My family and I as of Friday got back from Florida to not one, but two broken AC systems. We came home to a 90 degree house. Which is insane, but here are some things I did to help me stay cool. 10. Cool down the room with dry ice When you put dry ice in a bin the gases from the dry ice turn into very cold carbon-dioxide gas and that gas takes in the heat from the air. Then the cool air circulates throughout the room. 9. Surround yourself with fans Turn on that ceiling fan, grab that decorative fan, plug in that tower fan and cool off with the tower fan. Then and only then will you be able to cool down. 8. Fresh face mask The three days I had absolutely no AC and what cooled me down just a smidge was a self-preserved face mask (kept in the fridge) from Lush called Cosmetic Warrior. My face thanked me for that refreshing face mask. d7. Water
Obviously when in hot places, water is a must. I drank what felt like gallons (that's when my dramatic self comes in). I've had to get up and go to the bathroom TOO many times to where I stopped drinking so much water so I can stop going to the bathroom so much. 6. Cold showers / Baths Normally (or not normally) us humans like to have warm to hot showers (yes, even in the summer. Having a nice freezing cold shower can do wonders, BUT a bath is longer and you're not wasting a lot of water by just standing in the shower. Yes, yes, I know people hate baths, but think of it as a giant pool and you can put on a bathing suit to get more of that pool effect. 5. Cold face towels Taking a nice cold face towel and putting it on your nice hot face honestly feels like a slap of fresh cold cucumbers while getting a facial and they're edible....double whammy. 4. Ice Cream / frozen yogurt / smoothies You can NEVER go wrong with something frozen. It's best to make two of them (or how every many you want). While your cooling down with one, you still have many left for when you get blazing hot again. 3. Sit still Stop moving, tweeting, texting, adding things to your Snapchat story or Instagram story and just watch a nice movie or just catch up on some YouTube videos that you've missed for the past few days. The more you move the more you get hot and sweaty and feel like you're about to pass out. 2. Sit in the car Turn that car on and BLAST that AC. You'll then start to think...well.....why didn't I do that before and your cooled off brain will say "because when your too hot & being over dramatic to tend to not think as well" (or something like that). 1. LEAVE!!!!! Who said you had to stay in your house the whole time you AC is broken??? I'd like to know who told you that!! Go to your friends house, go out to brunch, lunch, linner and dinner and catch up with some people you haven't touched bases with in a while, they'll be glad to hear from you (and your body will thank you for not drowning it in sweat. Do something that will make you get out the hot house and into a place that has WORKING AC.
